Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine that deals with the anatomy, physiology, and diseases related to the eye and its appendages. This field covers important topics like cataract progression and deposition, retinal detachment, corneal graft rejection and much more. Sometimes due to the spread of cancers through blood or lymph, primary tumors arise in the eye which is known as retinoblastoma in children and melanoma in adults. Secondary tumors may also occur in the eye.
