It is a branch of medicine which deals with diagnosis and treatment of heart disorders.

Congenital heart defects: These are heart problems that generally occur before birth. They can occur in the heart's chambers, valves or blood vessels. Coronary artery disease: These happen when the arteries that supply blood to heart muscle become hardened and narrowed. This is due to the buildup of cholesterol and other material, called plaque, on their inner walls. This buildup is called atherosclerosis. Heart failure: Heart failure is a condition in which the heart is no longer able to pump out enough oxygen-rich blood to the body. Electrophysiology: This is a test which records the electrical activity and the electrical pathways of your heart.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with study of tumor and cancer. In the recent past there has been a lot of research work going on its treatment.

Surgery: It is often implemented to remove a tumor completely. Occasionally surgery increases the chance of survival, even if the tumor is not completely removed, which is also referred to as debulking (reducing the amount of tumor tissue). Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy: They are used as a first line radical therapy in number of malignancies. They are also used in adjuvant therapy i.e. when the macroscopic tumor has been removed surgically, but there may be chance of reoccurrence. They are generally used in palliation. Its aim is to improve the quality of life and prolong it. Hormonal Therapy: It involves manipulation of the endocrine system, through exogenous administration of particular hormones, specifically steroid hormones or drugs which inhibit the production or activity of such hormones. Steroid hormones are known to be powerful drivers for gene expression in certain cancer cells. Changing the levels or activity of certain hormones can cause the cancers to cease growing or may even undergo cell death. Monoclonal Antibody Treatment: These are new innovations in treatment of cancer. These are laboratory produced molecule which is carefully engineered to attach to certain specific cancer cells. These monoclonal antibodies mimic the antibodies that are naturally produced by the immune system as a response to germs, vaccines and other invaders. They are being generally used in the treatment of lymphoma and breast cancer.

It is a branch of medicine which deals with the disorders of the nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of numerous conditions and disease involving central and peripheral nervous system. Several life threating diseases can be like multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.

Brain Mapping: This is a 3-dimensional imaging technology which has been pioneered to remove the brain tumors as much as possible while minimizing the impact on the crucial areas, which control movement, speech and senses. Generally used for the treatment and epilepsy. Cyberknife: It is one of the most advanced forms of radiosurgery. It is a painless and no-invasive treatment that delivers high doses of precisely targeted radiations to destroy tumors or lesions within the body. Gammaknife: This is an advanced radiation treatment which is generally used to treat small and medium tumors, arteriovenous malformations, epilepsy, trigeminal neuralgia and other neurological conditions. Deep Brain Stimulation: It is an advanced form of brain surgery that was developed to treat Parkinson’s disease. It has been used to those who are suffering with dystonia, a condition, which is characterized by involuntary muscle contraction, which forces certain parts of the body into abnormal, sometimes painful movements or postures. Is also helps those suffering with essential tremors, tremors associated with multiple sclerosis and those suffering with depression.

This is a branch of medicine that deals with the health of women before, during and after child birth. Gynecology refers to the diagnosis and treatment of the disorders related to female reproductive system.

Uterine Fibroids: These represent the most common benign gynecologic tumor and are associated to a number of health effects including abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, uterine bleeding, infertility, miscarriage and preterm labor. Endometriosis: It affects 10 percent of the women in their reproductive age and contributes to development of pelvic adhesions, infertility, ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain. Menstrual Disorders: These are the disorders that affect a women’s normal menstrual cycle. They may include painful cramps during bleeding, abnormal heavy bleeding or not having any bleeding.

This a branch of medicine which deals with medical care of infants, children and adolescents up to the age limit of 18-21 years. A medical practitioner who specializes in this area is known as pediatrician.

Adolescent Medicine:  This is a branch of medical subspecialty, which focuses on the care of the patients who are in the adolescent period of development. Pediatric Cardiology: This is a subspecialty of pediatrics. A pediatric cardiologist deals with the diagnosis and treatment of children’s cardiac problems. Pediatric Dermatology: This is a subspecialty of dermatology, which encompasses the complex disorders in neonates, hereditary skin diseases and other diseases associated with the pediatric population.

This is a branch of medicine that generally deals with the healthcare of elderly people. It aims at promoting health by preventing and treating diseases in older adults.

Dementia: It describes a group of symptoms affecting memory, thinking and social abilities to an extent which interferes with the daily functioning. Palliative Care: It is specialized medical care for people with serious illness. It aims in providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, physical and mental stress of a serious illness. Parkinson’s disease: It is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system generally affecting the motor system.

This is a branch of medicine which deals with the causes, distribution and prevention of diseases in specified populations. Epidemiological information derived from the reports are used to plan and evaluate strategies to prevent illness and as a guide for the management of patients in whom disease has already developed.

Epidemiology can be done for any disease so that we can predict the potentiality of disease in affecting the population. A tremendous increase in the number of case reports has been found in this field.

Addison’s disease: It is also referred to as primary adrenal insufficiency. People suffering with primary adrenal insufficiency don’t produce enough hormone aldosterone. Grave’s disease: It is a type of autoimmune disorder, in which the thyroid gland produces too much of thyroid hormone, which is often call hyperthyroidism. A heartbeat that is over 100 beats per minute is called tachycardia and a heartbeat which is less than 60 beats per minute is called bradycardia.
